Ever Slumber Partied

Kristi Rondo invited Ever and Ellis Martindale for a slumber party with Ella one Saturday night while the big Rondo boys (dad Lance and 8-year-old Trey) were in Mexico for Trey's birthday. Matix, their two-year-old, was the only testosterone-bearer at home. Kristi and I had discussed slumber party stances before, and I'd told her we probably wouldn't do them. In this situation, though, Jim and I felt fine about it. Ever has probably never been so excited about anything in her entire life. She packed her little rolly bag (even though I told her she didn't need that much stuff), and I walked her up to Ella's when the time came. Jim was working in the garage when we left, and he got verklempt thinking it was like when she leaves us for college.

Ever had the time of her life. There were treats, nail painting, and I think some movie watching.

Kristi texted me and said Ella and Ellis were talking about yanking Ever's first tooth out; was I okay with that, or did I want to do the honors? I told her Jim and I were totally freaked out by it and wanted nothing to do with its extraction, so Kristi got it done. She sent me a picture that I can no longer find of an ecstatic Ever holding her tooth. It was really fun for her to have it happen at her first (and possibly only) slumber party. The tooth fairy came, and Ever had a whole story about how they all saw her. She gave a description of what she looked like and everything. Interesting.

Kristi got all the girls ready Sunday morning and brought them to church. They all had fancy hair because Kristi knows how to do that. I had to photocize Missy since she'll probably never have such cute hair again. This was how she felt about the end of the most amazing event of her life:

The happy pic doesn't show off her 'do as well.

Of course Wrenny insisted on being photocized, too, even though she didn't have fancy hair.

Apparently the girls were up multiple times throughout the night and then awake at 5:00 A.M. (By all accounts, Ella was the instigator.) Ellis was so tired she fell asleep at the Rondo house before church and had to have her hair finished in the chapel. Goosey made it until the car ride home.

So fun. Sleepovers = so scary but so much fun. I love what a social little creature Ever is. (And hilarious about Jim's seeing her leaving for college already. I laugh -- except that Anson is 5 months old and I already fear it, too).
