A nice woman gave the girls strawberries.
It wasn't the most lucrative booth in the history of the world, but the girls stuck it out the whole two-and-a-half hours. As we packed up, it started pouring.
The girls were signed up to work the same bank the next morning. The rain was crazy, and Anna and I discussed canceling. Rivers were flowing down the sides of our street. I'm sure all other booths were canceled. Missy, however, was desperate to work the booth. She verged on hysterics when cancellation was mentioned. She was very upset that our Hawai'i vacation had made her miss a week of cookie selling and was determined to make up for lost time. Knowing that rain was expected, Anna had gotten approval from the branch manager the day before to set up inside Saturday morning. So we braved the rain and forged ahead. We set up inside at first and then, when the rain lightened up, moved outside. This was also not an amazing day for sales, but the girls stuck it out.
Tutu had bought paint sets for the littles in Hawai'i. (That was what they picked at the volcano visitor center.) So they painted shortly after we got home. Ebony (brown Boozy) and ivory (fair Bear):
Tutu wanted to see their completed works, so later we took a picture for her.
Our independent four-year-old made herself some peanut butter toast with a sprinkle of Honey Bunches of Oats.
Ever and Leela worked at least one more cookie booth, and they turned cookie money in to Miss Marin.
Susan took the littles, the Karner kids, and her kids for froyo, and she documented the whole trip. She is the most fun.
Ever read to the littles while Tiny sported a sun bonnet and Wrenzy sported nothing.
