January Hawai'i Trip: Ahualoa & Puako

Tuesday, January 23, we drove out to Ahualoa and found the most gigantic cave system. We've been in several caves out there but had never seen this one. It went on and on, with different sections connecting up in different places. It was crazy. Now the challenge will be to find it again!

Of course no internal pictures turned out, but this is Jim, Tiny and I:

Wrenzy and Ever heading back into the land of the living:

Tiny shenaniquined. I love her face.

We got Tex's malasadas on the way home and took naps. Then we hit the Puako tidepools for sunset, at Coco's request.

Somebody spotted this big bunch of turtles out on some rocks:

The wind caused some hair problems.

As we were watching the turtles, a whale started jumping just out past them. I've never seen a whale so close before. It was so, so cool.

Ever and I watched the show.

Then Jim came, and we traded kids.

Jim tried to relax on the lava, but Tiny kept taking off.

How cute are Tutu and Papa with lil' Wrenzy?

We got a close-up view of a few other turtles on the beach.

The wildlife came through for us, and we were very glad Coco got us down there.

Such a grand day. Love both those places. And the malasadas. Thanks for making all my dreams come true.
