Jim was able to get off work at the last minute to go with Ever and me to the funeral. On Friday night, Aunt Liz e-mailed Danielle and me and asked us to speak at Grandpa's funeral on Monday. We were to give a life sketch and include anecdotes and stories. I got the e-mail Saturday morning and was going to be traveling all day Sunday. Danielle stepped up to the plate and prepared the whole thing like a champ. She worked on it all of Sunday. I went a little early to Springville on Monday so we could go over it, decide who was going to say which parts, etc. When I got there, Uncle Terry said, "Dani's freaking out. She was up all night. She's in there" - pointing to the office. She was sitting in front of her computer still trying to edit, and when I walked in she started laughing and crying - mainly just from sleep deprivation, I think. We pulled it together in time, though, and Dani did an amazing job of compiling interesting facts about Grandpa's life and integrating stories and memories from members of the family.
The funeral was in Springville, and there was a luncheon afterward.
Clara refusing to pose:
(This behavior would continue at the burial on Tuesday.)
But then we got a mini joker face:
Tucker discovered that Ever loved when he did lunges while holding her. He got his exercise that day.
Rob and Anna had a PDA photo shoot. So cute.
I know this is an outtake, but I really like Rob's face:
The real photo - all 15 grandkids:
The whole crew:
Love the top of Mamo's head peeping over Uncle Terry. |
The kids enjoyed some time under the stage:
Check out Anders lurking in the back. |
Ever loves Tucker. He is so good with her.
All that lunging wore her out, I guess.

So great. I'm in love with our family. And some of the faces captured...like Tron lurking under the stage and Ura's face in the grandkid phote. Greatness.
It was wonderful -- and great post, again.
