We looked around and ordered a couple of smoothies. The second we sat down, Wrenzy spilled one all over the table. Jim started sucking it up with a straw, and the girls jumped in on that action. Classy.
The lady in the food truck by us was super nice and gave us a wet towel and a dry towel with which to clean the table. Jim felt obligated to buy some food from her, and he had to buy a gigantic burger even though it was about 9:30 A.M. It was rare, and Jim likes his burgers well done but still said it was one of the best burgers he'd ever had. The Homers showed up just in time for Jim to make Dustin share some of it.
After that, we were off to Pololu. The heat was uncomfortable, but the day was otherwise clear and pretty.
The rope swings were a hit.
We picnicked by the big swing, and Dustin cut a fresh pineapple (purchased at the farmer's market) with his pocket knife for us all to share.
Many people hiked up the other side of Pololu, but we stayed at the beach and let the kids play. I was by the water with children and turned to see Mamo lying on the ground. It was concerning. I went to check on her, and she was just resting.
Sweaty after the hike out:
We stopped at the shaved ice place by the top of the valley. On a nice day, it is the most idyllic place to enjoy a treat.
We went back to Dee and Shan's place for swimming and barbecuing. Bear fell asleep in the car and went right back to sleep when I got her to the house. She slept for a long time outside by the pool. Poor, wasted little thing.

Great day, minus the heatwave. The resting people (mamo and Wrenny) are so sweet.
