Beach Day at the Pier

At the end of June, we took Dolly to the beach for the first time in a long time.  She loved the water, although she had a hard time getting there because she wouldn't let us put her down on the sand for a long time.  Her hand-me-down swimsuit from Dee and Shandie has been wonderful.

She was troubled by the seaweed that wrapped around her legs with every wave:

It was cold, but she cried when Jim tried to take her out of the water:

Eventually she became comfortable in the sand and started shoveling.

She seemed as dismayed as I was when she dumped the sand on our towel:

She tried to scoop it up, though, which was nice:

After we got her changed, we went for a walk down the Oceanside pier.

We're in love with this man who blows giant bubbles for hours:

Dolly liked trying to pop the bubbles:

I tried to get a nice picture of Jim and Ever with the beach behind them, but my efforts were in vain.  She would not look at me or look happy:

Most people say Ever looks just like Jim.  I didn't see the resemblance until I got this picture:

Jim pointed out the surfers to little E.

 'Twas a lovely family outing.

She is so cute. I love her. And I love cousin hand me downs. They are the best.
